On January 27, 2003, the European Union passed the "Restriction on Use of Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment," or "RoHS" legislation 2002/95/EC, which becomes effective July 1, 2006. Pacific Resistor Co. has established a time-line for conversion to lead-free products while meeting all other requirements of "RoHS" legislation. In addition, where markets require Sn-Pb terminations, Pacific Resistor Co. will continue to offer our products with either lead-free or Sn-Pb terminations under separate part numbers. The RoHS compliant Lead-Free parts have an E designation in the part number indicating RoHS compliance.

Pacific Resistor Co.'s products currently meet the proposed RoHS thresholds for cadmium, mercury, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyls (PBBs) and polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs). Our RoHS Compliant line of products also meet the RoHS threshold requirements for being Pb-Free. Several of our products have always been Lead Free and have always met the RoHS requirements.

Pacific Resistor Co. is shipping Pb-Free RoHS compliant components using packing labels consistent with Joint Electronic Device Engineering Council (JEDEC) standards.

A RoHS Certificate of Compliance (C of C) will ship with each order of RoHS compliant parts.

Questions and concerns about these changes should be addressed to your factory sales representative.
